Discover our history
We were founded in 2015 with a clear purpose: to challenge the stereotypical and negative narratives that traditional media imposed on peripheral cultural expressions. With the perspective of those who live and create culture in our lands, we began producing journalistic articles focused on representation, gender equality, and the appreciation of our identity.
We were a group of young people who had just started the Social Communication course at UFPA when we created the magazine. Na CuiaDuring this process, we realized that talking about culture also meant talking about security, health, and politics. Our work expanded, and we soon realized that being just a cultural magazine no longer met our needs and desires. That's how we became a cultural production company, expanding our impact through services, initiatives, and projects focused on culture and communication.
We are an organization built by young, independent, creative communicators belonging to the LGBTQIAPN+ community. We believe in valuing Amazonian culture as a guiding thread for social change, promoting the democratization of communication as a tool for the emancipation of territories and the expansion of civic space in the Amazon.
Com afeto,
Equipe Na Cuia.
